The Mobile Close Combat Tactical Trainer is a
self-contained, virtual training system used to train units to perform in
simulated combat and support roles. The system offers several different
theaters of operation during day or night and in numerous weather
environments allowing units to enhance their warfighting skills. Soldiers
can train in open terrain, in forests, in cities and in the mountains.
Operations databases include Fort Irwin, California, Fort Hood,
Texas, Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Stewart, Georgia, Kosovo, Germany, Korea and
Baghdad.
The system allows crews to enhance gunnery
skills and safe training procedures prior to conducting live fire exercises. It
can also be used to strengthen a unit's tactics, techniques,
procedures, command and control abilities, and can even assist in validating
elements of the unit SOP's.
Fundamental training exercises have been developed to train
basic skills such as movement formations, movement techniques, contact
drills, battle drills, different tactical scenarios (ie. defense, movement to
contact, attack, etc...). Custom exercises can be designed by the
team to meet a unit's current training requirements. Training can range
from the individual crew to Company Team and Battalion / Task Force levels.
Crews will
find that the simulator interior is remarkably detailed allowing crew members
to use all controls found on their actual combat vehicle. Vehicle commanders
can get a 360 degree view of their battlespace in an "open-hatch"
view. They also have binoculars and night vision devices at their disposal if
required and drivers have their night vision capabilities.
All stations have been designed to replicate actual positions in
the vehicle. Units can use this system to safely train personnel new to their
position on the vehicle.
The system can replicate damage caused from combat, improper use
of the equipment (thrown track, machine gun malfunctions) or randomly generated
malfunctions to test the maintenance operations of the unit.
There is no end to the
vehicles crews will encounter on the "battlefield". Commanders have
the flexibility to incorporate artillery, mortar, fixed and rotary wing
aircraft, UAV, mechanized and dismounted infantry, scouts and support vehicles
into their exercise and mission plan.
Units will also face these same vehicles on the "Opposing
Force". OPFOR units are controlled by M-CCTT Simulations Technicians to
display a realistic array of targets for the exercise. These OPFOR units
can also be set to different levels of proficiency (novice, competent,
marksman) to further test the training unit.
A recent addition to the OPFOR and BLUFOR system is the ability
to add civilians on the battlefield, civilian trucks, IEDs (improvised
explosive devices) and snipers.
"Non-Traditional"
Army National Guard and US Army Reserve units will also see that the
M-CCTT can be a very effective tool to be included in their training
program. The training that we can provide will enhance a unit's readiness
for deployment. We can work with units to train on reporting procedures
such as ACE, LACE, Spot Reports, SITREPS, 9-Line MEDEVAC Requests,
IED Report, etc... We can help units with communication
within their platoon / element and command and control procedures.
Actions on contact, actions in the FOB, actions at the objective and calls for
fire can also be trained in the system. We can tailor a mission
to meet your needs.
Troop leading procedures, an integral part of any unit's
mission, can also be practiced, trained and enhanced in the
M-CCTT. Units can establish, test and improve their Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) while training in the M-CCTT.
